Walking Group
Who should attend the Walking Group program?
This FREE community workshop is for adults living with a chronic disease, low level of fitness or who may be experiencing mobility challenges who would benefit from some supervision during activity.
What is the Walking Group program format?
1 hour per group session
- Opportunity to walk indoors (winter) and outdoors (summer) with members of the PCN Health Care Team as well as friends and neighbours in your community.
- All levels of fitness are welcome and walk at your own pace.
- Please bring comfortable walking shoes and appropriate clothing.
- Consent and participation agreement given the first time you attend.
How do you get in to the Walking Group program?
You can self-refer by calling 587-796-0765 OR obtain a referral from your Peaks to Prairies PCN family doctor.
When you self-refer consider having a friend register with you as this can provide support for positive change.
If you are already seeing a P2P PCN nurse, social worker, mental health counsellor, or exercise specialist you can ask them about a referral.
Where and When Is the Walking Group located?
Every Wednesday starting at 11:00 am in Olds at the CLC Fitness Centre in the Ralph Klein Building.
