Diabetic Foot Care
Who can benefit from this service?
Adults age 18 or over who are living with diabetes and have had difficulty with maintaining proper foot care. Proper foot care is essential to minimize the risk of diabetic foot ulcers.
What happens at my appointments?
Our Foot Care Nurse will meet with you during scheduled appointment to discuss the concerns with your feet, conduct a foot check, and perform foot care. You will also receive education on the importance of ongoing foot care and how to access recommended foot care providers in the community. You may also have a family member attend to learn how to properly and safely care for your feet and the risk factors to watch out for.
How do I access the service?
You can access this service by asking for a referral from your Peaks to Prairies PCN family physician. This service is by appointment only.
Where is the service located?
Our Foot Care Nurse sees patients in the clinics located throughout our PCN, or at our PCN location in Olds at 4920-50th Ave. Appointments are available Wednesday to Friday from 8:30 – 4:30.
