Active living means doing physical activity that you enjoy on a daily basis. Regular physical activity lowers your risk of developing heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and dementia (to name a few).

Our PCN Exercise Specialist can help you learn how to increase your physical activity safely and introduce you to some of the excellent resources in our communities that will make you want to get active and have fun!

If you would like to join our Peaks to Prairies PCN Walking Group in Olds or Sundre, please contact us to register! It is a wonderful way to get moving and to meet other people in the community who are also interested in increasing their physical activity.

A family physician in Sundre referred a patient with a new cancer diagnosis to Bev, our PCN Social Worker.  Bev encouraged the individual to join the Cancer Support Group in Sundre, which she co-facilitates.  That person told us that “our fearless leader Bev, is an excellent listener and makes new suggestions as to where and how to find more help…I wish more people would try this as it is informative and fun.  The group is very open minded and seriously interested in you and your problems during recovery”.
